Tourist Visa:

1. Provide your signed original passport book.  NOTE: Your valid passport book must have at least six months of remaining validity and at least one blank page in it.  Amendment pages in the back of the passport are not suitable for visa stamps.
   
   
2. One (1) completed Visa Application Form.  NOTE: improperly completed forms may delay the processing of your visa.  The signature on each visa application must be original. 
   
   
3. One passport picture in color, front view and with a plain/light background. 
   
   
4. Round trip air tickets and hotel reservation.
   
   
5. Letter of Authorization to process your visa.
   
   
6. Complete the IAG Customer Order Form. 
   
   
7. A letter addressed to the Embassy of Afghanistan stating the purpose of your trip with details of your intended activities during your visit and sponsorship information.
   
   
8. You will also need to include a financial guarantee Visa.

Business Visa Requirements:

7. Letter from the employer or sponsoring company, on their letterhead stationery, and signed by a senior manager (or by an officer of the company other than the applicant), addressed to: “Embassy of Afghanistan. Visa Section. Washington D.C.” This letter must explain all of the following: a brief introduction of the applicant (please specify employment status/position held in the company by applicant), a clear statement of the precise nature of the business to be conducted by applicant in Afghanistan, the name and address of reference to be visited, a guarantee of return transportation and sufficient funds for the visit.

Consular Visa Processing Fee:  Fees must be paid in US dollars with either a money order or cashier's check made payable to the Embassy of Afghanistan.

1. Payment options for a short-term single-entry visa good
   for one month: 
   - One month stay visa processed within 24 hours: $100.00
   - One month stay visa processed in 3 days: $70.00
   - One month stay visa processed in 2 weeks: $50.00
   
   
2. Payment options for a Long-term, single entry visas good
   for three or six months: 
   - Three-months stay visa processed in 1-2 days: $140.00
   - Six-months stay visa processed in 1-2 days: $180.00

   People born in Afghanistan, holding passports other than an Afghan passport, need not apply for a visa. An entry permit may be obtained from the Consular Office.

Additional Requirements:

• If you do not have any blank visa pages in your passport, you must first submit your passport to have pages added, or if your passport expires within six months, you must first renew your passport.  Please call us to assist you with obtaining or renewing your passport, or adding pages to your existing passport book.  We can secure your visa using the added pages or new passport.
• Non US-passport holders, temporary foreign visitors with a valid US visa, or foreign residents with legitimate status in the US may apply for a visa to Afghanistan.  Applicants in these categories must send a photocopy of their US Green Card, Work Permit, I-20 Form, valid US Visa, and valid ID along with the above requirements.  The Embassy will decide whether to issue the visa on a case by case basis. The Embassy may ask the applicant to provide additional documents.
• Applicants under the age of 18 (eighteen) MUST provide the following documents in addition to the standard requirements stated above:
• Copy of Birth Certificate
• Signed Letters of Consent by both parents
• Photocopies of the parents' passports (bio-data page) or valid ID
